The Punjab government has officially launched the Punjab Health Connect Programme on the directions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, under which overseas Pakistani and international specialist doctors and surgeons will provide services at government hospitals across the province.
According to an official statement, internationally renowned medical experts will offer free healthcare services to patients in public hospitals. In addition to treating patients, the visiting specialists will train local doctors, surgeons, and healthcare staff in advanced medical techniques, modern treatment methods, and clinical best practices.
The government said the initiative aims not only to improve access to world-class healthcare for patients but also to strengthen the professional capabilities of Punjab’s medical workforce through knowledge sharing and hands-on training.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said providing high-quality healthcare services in public hospitals remains one of the government’s top priorities, adding that Punjab’s healthcare system is being upgraded to meet international standards.
She further stated that the Punjab Health Connect Programme will help address the shortage of specialist doctors in government hospitals while enhancing the skills of local medical professionals. The initiative is expected to improve the quality of treatment and patient care across the province.
