Pakistani boxer Qudratullah, who represented Pakistan at the Commonwealth Games, has mysteriously gone missing in Glasgow, Scotland, while the Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF) has confirmed his disappearance and launched an inquiry into the incident.
According to sources, Qudratullah disappeared approximately six hours before the team’s scheduled departure for Pakistan. The national squad was instructed to assemble in the hotel lobby at 9:00 a.m., but when team officials went to his room, he was nowhere to be found.
Sources said the boxer was last seen in his room at around 2:00 a.m. However, by morning, there was no trace of him. Adding to the mystery, his passport and return air ticket were still in the custody of the team manager, raising further questions about how and why he disappeared.
Officials of the Pakistan Boxing Federation have also confirmed the incident, stating that the matter is under investigation and that they are coordinating with the relevant authorities to determine the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.
This is not the first such incident involving Pakistani boxers during an international event. During the 2022 Commonwealth Games in England, two Pakistani boxers also reportedly left the team and went missing.
Qudratullah’s disappearance has once again raised concerns over the management, monitoring, and security arrangements for national athletes during overseas competitions, while sports fans await further developments in the case.
