Islamabad: The Institute of Islamic Research (IRI) at the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) held a prestigious certificate distribution ceremony for the Postdoctoral Fellowship Session 2024–2025 at the Allama Iqbal Auditorium, Faisal Mosque Campus, where 100 scholars were awarded postdoctoral certificates.
The ceremony was attended by prominent academics, university leaders, researchers, and distinguished scholars from across Pakistan. Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training Wajiha Qamar graced the event as the chief guest, while Chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology, Dr. Allama Muhammad Raghib Hussain Naeemi, attended as the guest of honour. IIUI President and Acting Rector Professor Dr. Ahmed Saad Al-Ahmad also participated in the ceremony.
Addressing the gathering, Wajiha Qamar praised the academic contributions of IIUI and the Institute of Islamic Research, emphasizing that postdoctoral research plays a vital role in higher education, national development, policymaking, and academic leadership.
In his address, Dr. Allama Raghib Hussain Naeemi appreciated the scholars’ research efforts and highlighted the importance of quality research in addressing contemporary intellectual and social challenges.
Vice Chancellor of the University of Narowal, Professor Dr. Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq, delivered the keynote address, stating that postdoctoral research is instrumental in solving modern societal issues and strengthening the country’s research framework.
Director General of the Institute of Islamic Research, Professor Dr. Muhammad Akram, outlined the institute’s academic legacy and ongoing research initiatives, reaffirming its commitment to promoting high-quality research.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates among 100 postdoctoral scholars, followed by a group photograph and a luncheon.
