The future of warfare is increasingly shifting toward drones, artificial intelligence, and autonomous robots. U.S.-based robotics company Foundation has unveiled a humanoid robot designed to assist military forces in high-risk operations.
According to the company, the robot can carry a rifle, walk at speeds of approximately 6.5 km/h, lift more than 20 kilograms, and conduct preliminary building inspections before soldiers enter potentially dangerous areas.
The company says it has secured defense contracts worth $24 million with the U.S. Army, Navy, and Air Force. It plans to manufacture 50 robots this year, increase production to 10,000 units next year, and reach 50,000 robots by the end of 2027.
Defense analysts believe humanoid robots could support logistics, reconnaissance, bomb disposal, casualty assistance, and urban combat missions while reducing risks to human soldiers. However, experts also stress that the growing use of AI-powered military systems raises important ethical, legal, and security concerns.
